Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funding is intended to support training when other financial assistance is unavailable or insufficient. Funding is determined individually based on eligibility and need. Current Individual Training Account (ITA) funding limits are:
- Up to $7,000 for vocational training programs
- Up to $8,000 for associate degree programs
- Up to $10,000 for bachelor’s degree programs
Funding is not guaranteed and is based on individual circumstances, program approval, and availability of funding.

Training funding is not automatic. A career planner evaluates eligibility, the selected training program, labor market demand, approved training provider status, and funding availability before approval can be granted.
Depending on your goals, eligibility, employer participation, and available funding, alternatives may include apprenticeships, on-the-job training, short-term credential programs, work-based learning opportunities, and employer-sponsored training.
SNAP, Welfare Transition & Public Assistance Programs
Eligibility for Department of Children and Families (DCF) exemptions depends on your individual circumstances and the specific program involved. Supporting documentation may be required, and exemption determinations are made by DCF.
SNAP work requirement exemptions are determined by DCF. If an exemption has been approved, you may not be required to complete certain SNAP Employment & Training activities. Contact Department of Children and Families (DCF) to verify your exemption status.
You must serve your penalty first then contact your CareerSource representative or case manager for assistance with resolving participation issues in One-Stop Service Tracking (OSST), the tracking system used for SNAP Employment & Training and related workforce programs.
WTP participants typically remain compliant by attending required orientations, completing assigned activities, maintaining communication with their case manager, participating in approved work or training activities, and submitting required documentation.
