2025 Summer Youth Employment Program application process is closed.
CareerSource Southwest Florida’s Summer Youth Employment program offers career exploration and hands-on training for in-school youth between the ages of 15 and 18. For up to 30 hours per week, participants gain practical experience in a variety of roles within local businesses across Southwest Florida.
A variety of businesses have committed to employ these young people, providing them with valuable exposure and skills that will enhance their understanding of job roles and companies. Businesses can play an active role in shaping the future workforce through CareerSource Southwest Florida Youth Summer Employment program.
Participants in ISY may work up to 30 hours/week during the months of April – August for up to 180 hours, or based on available funding. This agreement may be terminated if more than forty (40) hours are worked per work week (Sunday through Saturday).
Participants in ISY WEX will be paid $15.00 per hour. A work-based training guide and workbook is issued to every participant to understand the rules and obligations.
Applicants must meet income elgibility and have a valid identification and social security card.
IN-SCHOoL YOUTH
- Ages 15-18
- Must be enrolled in High School
- Complete an online application
- Available to work up to 30 hours per week
- Various worksite locations in Southwest Florida
- Attend an on-boarding orientation
REQUIRED CRITERIA
- Income Eligibility Confirmed
- Valid Social Security Card
- Available to work up to 10 weeks
- Valid identication card
- Reliable transportation
