Reemployment assistance benefits, formerly known as unemployment compensation provides temporary wage replacement benefits to qualified individuals who are out of work through no fault of their own. You must file online using CONNECT or mail a paper application.
Work registration, job search requirement, and waiting week requirement have been waived by the State of Florida for individuals filing an application from March 15, 2020 until September 5, 2020.
You may be prompted to register but are NOT required to register within these dates.
Weeks beginning May 10, 2020, claimants for all Reemployment Assistance Programs, including State Reemployment, Pandemic Unemployment Assistance and Pandemic Emergency Unemployment compensation will be required to return to CONNECT system every two weeks to request their benefits or “claim their weeks”.
Starting Monday July 5, the request to modify the date of your claim must be made by calling the Reemployment Assistance Customer Service center at 1-833-FL-APPLY (1-833-352-7759 and choose option 5). You may be eligible to modify the date of your claim to the date you originally attempted to apply for Reemployment Assistance only if you were unable to claim between the weeks of March 9, 2020 to April 9, 2020.
